In 2025 we ran a test event at Nicolson Square Gardens. We’re delighted to be expanding that to the whole of Fringe 2026. Even better, we have teamed up with NS Venues to create a new hub on Nicholson Square; six rooms including our wonderful geodome.
Hoots at Nicolson Square is designed for performers who want to embrace the alternative. You could say it’s the big sister venue to Hoots at Potterrow.
With 80 seats, our geodome is a fantastic space that can generate an incredible and unique atmosphere at Fringe. Sized 10m diameter and 5m in height, our dome offers something special for performers at the Festival.

New for 2026, a spacious room (10.1m x 10.8m) that is an ideal space for any Fringe show. Seating 125, Nic 2 (Epworth Hall) offers a versatile and inspiring space in a unique historic setting.
A warm, friendly space (6.8m x 4.8m) for performers to create an intimate experience.
With 40 seats, it offers a cosy, focused atmosphere every performance.
Our most compact space (7.1m x 3.3m) – perfect for artists new to Fringe looking for a quiet, focused setting.
A 25 seat venue in the heart of the Fringe at a sensible price.
We love a container at Hoots! At Nicolson Squarewe have two. With 32 seats, it’s a small, intimate space that makes every show feel like a shared secret between you and the audience.
